With almost 15 years experience in Narrow and Wide beam Boatbuilding, Phil Herrington at Stem to Stern has earned an enviable reputation for craftsmanship and uncompromising standards.

Prior to boatbuilding Phil worked in the highly skilled and demanding cabinet making and shop fitting industry, training initially on the tools but latterly moving into Design and Project Management.

Stem to Stern appreciates that no two customers, or their boats are likely to be the same but will advise and design a style and detailed specification to suit your ideas and requirements.

It is probably Phil’s traditional values and “hands on” approach, plus the fact he manages the project from planning to delivery that ensures you get the bespoke boat you designed and specified.​

Viewing Stem to Stern’s completed boats, or their boats under construction will confirm that Phil, along with his small, but highly skilled and experienced team are dedicated to producing some of the highest quality bespoke boats on the waterways today.

Apart from the Steelwork, virtually every thing else is done “in house” as this allows Stem to Stern to control the quality and constantly produce innovative designs that reflect your choices and preferences.

We do have our preferred suppliers for Steelwork but are happy to accommodate other fabricators if you have specific designs requirements.​

Prospective customers are encouraged to visit our works to inspect the current projects in build, obviously when you’ve placed an order and your boat is in production we welcome regular visits monitor the progress.
